since i was required to perform for the old folks today i was jumping up and down with excitement just before the performance , hahaha. probably because i was so nervous !
During the performance i screwed up some parts , but the old folks were very understanding ! they claped and cheered me on! after the performance i went around to chit chat with some old folks.
There was one old man which left the deepest impression on me. when chatting with him i get to know that throughout years in the old folks home , his children never came to visit him even once ! upon hearing that , i felt really furious about how his children treat him , i felt like helping him to give his children a slap in the face... But despite the fact that his children never visited him , he was not angry , he said in Chinese " I think my children did not visit me its because they are really busy with their work, but i really hope they can come and visit me , i really love to see them one last time "
haizz... upon hearing his story , tears coursed down my face... from that moment i made a promise to myself that i will never abandon my parents nor hurt them in anyway.
but anyway its a really good experience volunteering at a old folks home !
i felt really good too! its like happiness + satisfaction + contentment = AHHHHH~
